Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an essential part of every cooperative extension network. At K-State Extension, we offer a variety of opportunities to get involved. For more information, contact your local extension office.
Kansas 4-H invites you to make the difference in the life of a young person. Volunteers make 4-H possible through the passion, skills and talents they share with young people. 4-H Volunteers are screened and receive ongoing training. Assisted by local staff, they guide youth learning using research-backed curriculum.

The partnership between K-State and the local Extension Board is unique and is one of the strengths of K-State Extension.
This relationship produces high quality educational programs for the people of Kansas.
Local Extension Boards rely on community volunteers to provide the necessary foundation for successful Extension leadership and programming in the communities they serve. To learn more about serving on an Extension Board, please contact your local office.
The Kansas Extension Food Volunteer Program provides a foundation of knowledge to volunteers in the subject areas of food safety, food science, food preparation, and food preservation. People with interests in food, cooking and nutrition take their expertise to a higher level while developing new avenues for helping in the community.
The Extension Food Volunteer Program provides approximately 40 hours of training. These classes are taught by extension and industry professionals. Class members complete certification as an Extension Food Volunteer by contributing a minimum of 40 hours of approved volunteer service back to the community.
